BY THE WAY, MEET VERA STARK (link to program)

This play is a deconstruction of the different popular images of Blackness in America across the 20th century. As the assistant costume designer, I provided a lot of cultural context drawing from my own experiences within the Black community. Additionally, I designed 1930s evening looks for Gloria, a Hollywood starlet struggling to break out of her young and innocent image, and Anna-Mae, a young and fun-loving party girl.
