BUT NOW I SEE (link to program)
Kristin Kusanovich (choreographer) told me this piece was about strength in community during dark times. As a part of her zero-waste mission, she asked me to not use any new materials while designing the costumes. I opted to reuse different costume pieces from stock to create a deconstructed Great Depression inspired look. I wanted the colors and prints to suggest lived-in, worn, and faded. I wanted each dancer to have a distinct silhouette while still belonging to the community of the whole ensemble.
